EXYT Figurine Concepts
I digitally painted these concepts for 3D figurines that EXYT wanted to comission.
The challenge was to find a cohesive style that would allow each character to maintain their own personality, but would also feel like they belonged in a cohesive group.
It was fun to experiment with the many ways to infuse personality through subtle details such as posture, colors, and the orientation of the face and the facial expressions.
EXYT 3D Figurines:  Rough Modeling phase
This is the rough modeling phase to show the client general pose information.
Everything is kept purposely rough and pixelated at this point to keep from getting bogged down in the details.
WIP of  "Minecraftblow"
This is a WIP of a character named "Minecraftblow".  His figurine was intended to communicate a super-hero feel, so I had to figure out a good way to do that with the pose and the tilt of the head.
WIP of "Czulek"
This is a WIP of a character named "Czulek".  His figurine was intended to communicate a "modern-techno-ninja" feel, so I had some fun experimenting with heroic poses as well as dynamic clothing wrinkles and folds.
WIP of "Mandzio"
This is a WIP of a character named "Mandzio".  His figurine was a hybrid between a cow and a man, so I had to try and find some way to assimilate his character's design into the style of all of the other characters in order to achieve a cohesive aesthetic from figure to figure.
WIP of "Polski Penguin"
This is a WIP of a character named "Polski Penguin".  His figurine was to achieve a realistic depiction of his facial characteristics.  The main challenge in this figurine was to figure out the best way to communicate a confident pose through a penguin suit.
