The World Pizza Day was established in 1984 by a group of Neapolitan pizza makers with the aim of promoting pizza as a symbol of Italian culture and cuisine around the world. Since then, the festival has become increasingly popular and every year numerous activities are organized to celebrate this occasion, such as pizza tastings, cooking classes, exhibitions and pizza competitions.
