As year 2023 approached, locals and tourists flood the streets of the Gaslamp district in San Diego, CA. In the spirit of celebration, people dress in their best outfits to usher the New Year in with loud music and liquor. Although a very rare storm bringing in rain and harsh 25 mph winds, the people never ceased their celebrations. To me, this was a very beautiful expression of human perseverance and a very exciting place to photograph, As people leaped into the New Year over puddles and women embracing the harsh weather in their beautiful dresses, I kept my eyes dry and attempted to capture the night in my best abilities.
