The Challenge

For this issue, the publication sheds light on life during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. In response, the concept of “Set in Motion” was conceived. It provokes the readers to take this time of crisis as a catalyst to think about what can we do and how can we do things by looking into different stories which uncover beginnings, endings, and moving forward.

Issue design system and Identity

This issue features an ambitious attempt to break out of the murky waters of conformity and rise up against the tide in pursuit of design that resonates with a community driven by stories of truth and change. Anchored in the minimalist movement and identity of the publication, the Set In Motion's design issue revolves around the exploration of the movement- boundaries can be torn down, allowing for the creation of something new, something uniquely crafted and made for the purpose of giving a voice to those who have been unheard until now. The magazine, in its entirety, to explore the possibilities of what lies beyond, to inspire and motivate its readers to think differently about the world around them. Through a combination of powerful visuals, meaningful stories, and thought provoking conversations, the design issue creates an opportunity to explore the potential of design within the context of a larger narrative.
