The wood industry in Colombia is one of the most relevant sectors of industrial waste production. With Omby, we use this waste to create a new material for art toy production.

After an investigation of agglomerated wood and products made from sawdust, we decided to work with natural binders to reduce the impact on the environment.

The resulting material was cast into a plaster mold in the Omby shape. Six to eight prototypes were made with this mold to determine the thickness of the sawdust grain and the portions between the three components.
