Synergy is a fresh and new skateboarding association in Hungary. I Had the pleasure of creating their logo.

They wanted something that uses the visual elements of a skateboard but is not already very used. This was not that easy, because a skateboard contains 3 visually easily identifiable (group of) objects besides the whole skateboard itself: the deck, the wheels, and the trucks. And they are already used in many logos of other associations, federations, makers, and competitions.

So I tried to slip in the meaning of synergy because all the others don't have that.

Synergy means that the combined power of a group of things when they are working together is greater than the total power achieved by each working separately. (Very cornered down: 1+1>2 )

The logo depicts 2 letters "S" that combined make the shape of a skateboard deck. In this way, the two "S" are not just double letters, but something more.

I put the focus on the shape, not the color because the skateboarding culture is very colorful and I wanted them to have all the colors they want. Well, turned out all they want is black and white but that may change.
