BACKSTAGE MAGAZINE COVERS
SCREEN ACTOR'S GUILD AWARDS GUIDE SPECIAL ISSUE
Backstage commissioned Made Up Studio to create a series of 6 covers for their annual SAG Awards issue, covering film & TV and various subcategories. The artwork was sketched in pencil, then flat type was created in vector, which was then used to create 3D type in Cinema 4D, and finalised in Photoshop.

01 / SKETCH CONCEPT
Undulating, flowing type, emerging from film reel.

Type follows a single reel that folds across the cover.

Bespoke type created to be used as basis for 3D.

Had a great time creating this in Cinema 4D.

I was originally aiming for a classic monochromatic/realistic film strip aesthetic, but colour lent it a nice abstracted feel.
