Paper

The papercut negotiates the boundary between the flatness of paper and the volume of sculpture. There is a slow, deliberate sense of observation in the shadowed form that results from the papercut. These are not dashed of lines of celat, nor stylized approximations. Rather, they are mediated examinations of form, abstemious and essential. The shadow, as a product of projected light, maintains a qualitative lightness and subtly reflects the lightness of the paper as its vehicle.
