Oxymoron / double exposure

Sacro & Profano
Napoli / Parigi

We are Valeria and Mariette, two photographers both living in Paris, but I am from Naples Italy and Mariette is from Paris in France. From our first meeting, we talk about photography and experimentation, often thinking of wanting to collaborate without knowing exactly how, until Mariette traveled in Naples, my hometown.
“It would be nice if I took pictures in your city and then you do the same in mine, creating double exposures,” she told me.
Mariette thus brought a small analog camera with her for her 4 days in Naples and took the shot without looking in the viewfinder, with her arm raised and a bit at random. When she returned, she gave me the film, to create double exposures on it adding only this comment “In Naples, I was struck by all the religious figures”. So I imagined all the photos she could have taken and in a second I understood what I should have overlapping on these images: something opposite, antithetical, and dazzling.
I went to Montmartre at night to shoot along the streets of "perdition" and shoot at all the illuminated signs that attracted my attention.
