Early 2022 we were contacted by Mother NY about a particular project they were starting to work on: Mother Goods.

The task was to create a video showcasing one of their products: the unique and dystopic Bliss sofa. A coach that can float in the ocean in the event of rising sea levels and is prepped for an apocalyptic catastrophe. Bliss was designed to not only be an ironically practical solution for the future, but also to spark a conversation about climate change.

We were instantly inspired by the playful nature of Bliss and started a visual exploration. While the sofa was being built in Mother NY headquarters, we transported it digitally to a dreamy and surreal landscape. The idea was to make the sofa interact with a comfortably desolated surrounding evoking it’s ludic spirit.

One of the missions when creating this video was to use lighting effectively. Crafting a mood that was both dreamy and sleek, and helped to bring the unique qualities of the Bliss sofa to life by appealing the viewer.

Additionally, the Bliss sofa was not just limited to the video production. Bliss Sofa was also on show throughout NYCxDesign as part of a show called Harmonious Proportions by Chelsea gallery Tuleste Factory.

Within this exhibition, the Bliss sofa stood out as a symbol of forward-thinking design and environmental consciousness.
