After post-WWII reconstruction, architects, with residents' participation, have discussed creating new aesthetic buildings instead of the pre-war gray buildings. So there had to be more cheerfulness in the new Rotterdam, in the Netherlands. The entire complex is called “Blaakse Bos” where the idea is that each cube represents a tree. A kind of village in a big city.
