Cases of Covid Gravely Affect Seniors
The average number of senior adults hospitalised since October for COVID-19 or other respiratory illnesses has increased by four times. The number of seniors hospitalised for the sickness only increased by three times when the epidemic struck the US in 2020.
We currently have an immunity wall built up against the Omicron family thanks to vaccinations, prior infections, and combinations of those, which looks to be doing very well for younger people. But older people's immune systems are weaker, according to Dr. Eric Topol of Scripps Research.

Topol refers to the senior wave as the rise in elderly people who are affected. Immunocompromised younger persons are also severely impacted by the most recent wave. According to Topol, the latest Covid strains are more resistant to the virus's evolved immunity in humans, and Paxlovid may have contributed to the rise in the number of infected seniors.

"Everything indicates declining immunity. "The effect would be negligible if more seniors received their booster," he claimed.
