I travelled to Napier, a seaside town in 2018 and saw some amazing art deco buildings which were built in the 1930s after a devastating earthquake which struck the area in 1931. My favourite building in Napier is the National Tabacco Company Ltd building, so I created a digital drawing inspired by the building. I really like the simple lines and patterns, graphic decorative elements like flowers and vines and bright pastel colours.
