Scentual은 무형무색의 향을 OLED 디스플레이를 통해 시각적으로 표현함으로써 새로운 향 경험을 제공합니다.
기존의 디퓨저에서 벗어나 더욱 몰입감 있는 향 경험을 제공하는 새로운 개념의 스마트 디퓨저를 디자인하였습니다.
Design concept
"How can I experience something new with the existing diffuser?"
"기존의 디퓨저에서 어떻게 하면 새로운 경험을 느낄 수 있을까요?"
I could find the answer for the reason why we like campfire.
우리가 불 멍을 좋아하는 이유에서 그 해답을 찾을 수 있었습니다.
Campfire was an experience in which various sensory experiences such as sight and hearing were fused.
I found that the sense of fusion creates a more immersive experience than the single sense.
불 멍은 시각과 촉각 등 여러 감각들이 융합된 경험이었고,
단일 감각보다는 융합 감각이 더 몰입감 있는 경험을 만들어낸다는 것을 알 수 있었습니다.
Therefore, I put these thoughts into the experience of scent.
따라서 이러한 사고를 향 경험에 대입해보았습니다.
When I think about the existing scent experience, I can see that the experience is limited to the sense of smell.
Also, the scents have existed as an abstract image of intangible colorlessness.
기존의 향 경험을 떠올려보면 그 경험은 후각이라는 감각에만 제한된 경험임을 알 수 있었습니다.
또한 그 향들은 무형무색의 추상적인 이미지로서 존재해왔습니다.
Therefore, by visualizing the intangible colorless scent, I expanded the scent experience to the visual experience.
따라서 무형무색의 향을 시각화함으로써 후각에 한정적이던 향 경험을 시각적 경험까지 확장시켜보았습니다.
