Project Description: SharkScape is an interactive mini-game of first-person control, escape and collect genre where the player falls into open ocean waters and must collect the life preservers scattered along the water in order to win the game, but a dangerous shark chases him every time he is submerged and swimming so he must be careful and hurry as it would not be ideal to face a shark at night.
Tasks Description: With the help of a first-person controller, I learned how the system developed by the company worked to generate an entertaining escape game with the concept of the sea as the main figure and mechanics of the game. With the help of Shader Graph I developed what took the most work of the whole game, which was the hyper-realistic shader of ocean waters. The terrain for the islands was built from the beginning and the shark objects, towers and lights were modeled. Another highlight of this project was the development of the day and night system that is used as a mechanic within the game to make it more difficult. All the functionalities of the game were developed through code: The mentioned day and night system, the shark AI, player and lifeguard behavior, managers and among others . I did a great job with the level design as well as the difficulty balance.
SharkScape was included 3 times for "Scavenger Hunt" type events for Interlude Game Company's interactive video game protocols and received an audience rating of: ⭐⭐⭐⭐.
