CARRIER: THE CHRISTMAS #ELFIE

Days before the 25th of December, the world’s leading air expert, Carrier, launched “The Christmas #Elfie” – virtual filters that turned people’s selfies into real gifts for their loved ones. With the Philippines being home to six of the world’s 100 “selfiest cities” – Makati City and Pasig City topping the list with 258 selfie-takers for every 100,000 people – we thought of a way to put the population’s selfie-taking obsession to better use and turn homebound Filipinos into heralds of the holiday spirit. Through an AR app, people could post selfies turned #Elfies on Facebook and Instagram, then tag friends and family whom they’d want to send a brand new aircon unit or air purifier helping make their holidays at home safer and merrier. We released three custom filters over the course of two weeks to unlock different Carrier products changing what would have been just another promotional giveaway into something much more meaningful.
