Hi, my name is Nata and I am an artist and illustrator living in Orléans, France. I am thrilled to share with you my latest project, a label design for a red wine bottle commissioned by WINE52, an online shop for wine and beer based in Scotland.

The wine in question is a Grenache from the Rhône Valley region of France, a place that holds a special place in my heart as I used to live there for a year. This personal connection allowed me to draw inspiration from my own experiences and photographs taken during my time in the region.

The process of creating this label began with brainstorming and sketching out ideas, ultimately settling on a design featuring a woman enjoying a glass of Grenache while seated at a bar terrace with a stunning Gallo-Roman temple in the background. I then worked on finding the perfect composition and used some of my own photographs as reference to draw the woman in the bar. In this post, you can find a video showcasing the entire process of creating this artwork.

For the final version, I was inspired by one of my old drawings made in a bar in the Rhône Valley and created a new version that was accepted by the client. WINE52 also asked me to come up with a name for this wine, so I chose the word "pompette," which means to be a little tipsy in French. I thought it was a fun and fitting name for this Grenache wine.

I hope that this label design captures the essence of the Grenache wine and the beautiful region it comes from.
