These are a minimalistic representation of the Turrets from the Portal game series. These were done individually on 3x3 squares of foamcore.
I was not a part of the hanging process of the show, but I told the people who were hanging it to put the turrets in obscure places, and then I would have a game for people to find them. I told them to put one on the wall and give it a ridiculous white space frame. I did not know they were going to give me an entire wall. It was quite comical coming into the gallery to see this.

This piece was done for a show titled 'Heroes' at Cal U. While the Turrets from Portal generally aren't regarded as 'heroes,' I decided to pick them anyways. For the show, I placed one on the wall and hid the other eleven, asking people to find them all. I wanted it to be interactive. The theme I was going for was: you probably wouldn't notice just one, but when you start to repetetively see them, then they catch your attention. To me, they are all a single unit. I had a lot of fun making them and everyone else enjoyed looking for them at the show.
