How do you get your bees out of the trees?
Here's a rough 'animatic' version of the storyboard from the beginning of the process. The voice-over and music are recorded first, then the rough sketches are timed to the audio track. Because the piece was being animated in Flash, some rough animation could be planned out early and saved as symbols then cleaned up for the final version. That can be a time-saver in the long run.
This was the first project I've animated completely on the Surface Pro 2 I've had for a few months. It's enjoyable to draw on, runs Flash, Illustrator and Photoshop like a champ, and makes working at the kitchen table (and closer to the fridge!) an enjoyable time away from the studio. Only needed to do some final sweetening and output via After Effects on my macpro in the studio.
