A background I illustrated for the needs of my "Digital Illustration: Character Design" workshop, during the Toolkit Startup event (an amazing new initiative, a graphic design meet-up in my hometown, Thessaloniki).

 

The scene is based on real 19th century Thessaloniki and the column of snakes, an ancient greek stone column (still surviving today) which, back then, was thought to be either haunted or demonic.
