Grace Baptist Church Rebranding

Grace Baptist Church Proposed Rebrand
The task:
For this project, I worked on a rebranding initiative for a local church in my hometown. Prior to this, the church did not have a defined brand style or logo. As a result, I delved deep into understanding their beliefs to create a compelling branding strategy that truly reflects the essence of the church.
The goal:
In creating the logo for this church, my aim was to capture the substance of their beliefs and what sets them apart. Drawing inspiration from the Protestant Reformation's battle cry of "sola scriptura," which emphasizes the importance of scripture alone, I sought to incorporate this concept into the logo design. The end result is a logo that features an open Bible on a pedestal, with a diamond floating above to symbolize the pursuit of truth that is at the heart of the church's mission.
In choosing the typeface and color palette, my objective was to convey a sense of professionalism and credibility (achieved through the use of a serif font and orange color). At the same time, I wanted to ensure that the design remained welcoming and approachable, which is why I chose the bold weight of the font.
Touchpoints
To bring my design concepts to life, I developed mockups for several touchpoints, including a quad-fold brochure, identity set, scripture memory card, and website landing page. These examples were selected to demonstrate how the brand could be applied across a range of real-world scenarios.
Working on this project helped me understand the critical role that branding plays in accurately representing a church's beliefs. By establishing a clear brand identity, people are better able to identify, engage, and connect with the church.
