Back in October 2013 we started working with Nike Brand Design on visuals to launch the latest Nike football National Team Kits (NTK) in preparation for the small matter of the 2014 World Cup this summer. The brief was to create a bespoke illustration for 7 Nike sponsored nations promoting their new kit through the filter of "Risk Everything". Partnering with Nike Football's in-house team we worked on initial sketches and concepts through to the completed work you see below. Each nation's illustration includes contemporary and amplified visual cues to historical and cultural elements, teamed with action photography of their top footballer. These graphics rolled out to retail stores in each of the 7 nation's, and also adorned the homepage of Nike.com in each respective country, and of course social media went crazy with the #riskeverything hashtag. A real honour to be asked to work on something with the Nike team and our home nation.. and the World Cup… these chances come very rarely so we seized the moment!
