Applied Art project to redesign an album cover while keeping "parody" and/ or "pastiche" in mind. I had a lot of trouble thinking of ideas and understanding the project outline, but my final outcome is something I am happy with so I personally think it ended well. This project was given out right around the passing of Queen Elizabeth on September 8th, her death being discussed in most conversations around the world.
One could say Elizabeth's passing was the "News of the World" and so I thought it would fit perfectly with Queen's album as she was the actual Queen. I replaced the large figure from the original album art with her figure, and edited the middle of the record to hold her majesty's corgis. I chose specific songs from the album to display on the back of the record (not representing my personal feelings towards her passing away, but those in general that may be used in regards to a death).
Beginning sketches and ideas. Other possible project routes were Queen's "Hot Space", The Beatles' "Abbey Road", Taylor Swift's "TS 1989", and Adele's "21".
