Vicroads Learner's Logbook

This was a  third year client brief for Deloitte Digital to come up with a mobile phone app for Vicroads Australia to stop people from cheating their logbook system.

The app essentially will be able to record and note down your journey length in different weather conditions and traffic. It will also potentially use a reward/ badge system that will motivate youngsters to use the app more.
The user would potentially have to have their own account that would sync to the Vicroads online system so accounts could be traced. So either they sign in or a pop up window will ask to sign up for one.  Once you have an account, a user log in is required to assign a profile for the driver and supervisor to be kept on record. So things like name, phone number, email address, car and license numbers (for the supervisors only) will be asked.
Once establishing a profile, you can proceed to starting your journey, whereby a dashboard will appear to show you and keep you on track on the distance, time taken and weather forecast.
As a security feature, the app automatically locks itself hoping to prevent users from touching their phone while driving or to make it harder for them to access it unless at a complete stop. The gps that records your journey will be able to trace the motion.
Once finishing and ending the journey, the app will prompt you to take a photo with your supervisor as proof of your driving. You will then be asked to submit it and it will automatically update in your logbook summary.
Ideally, the app will use a badge system (similar to Foursquare) to motivate youngsters in achieving all 160 hours of their driving.
Your logbook summary will be able to tell you your total distanced travelled for the day, the total time taken and time of day as well as how many hours remaining. Your journey would be potentially broken down into 4-5 main staged whereby you can check your average speed and distance travelled as well as the weather and traffic condition that you were experiencing within that certain time frame.  In your day-to-day logbook summary, your verification photo can also be viewed.
And just an overview of what the side navigation panel could look like.
