A Modern Day Fable

This project was my own set brief- a creation of samples for fashion fabric.  I wanted something a bit more fun than usual that also had been influenced by future trends, as well as creating my own trend.
I was feeling like doing something quite fantastical and fairy tale like at the time. Then I was enamoured by churchy, medieval, stained glass drawing styles- much like what William Morris prints are like. I combined this with my often haphazard inky drawings to create something that was a bit different.
Crow aka Louis, drawn from the millions of pictures/videos of a crow that I took at Versailles. I envisioned he was a reincarnated King who was very much displeased at the common folk trampling all over his house.
The whole background of the trend was a story played between a tree, a beast, a crow and a church all based on a very modern roundabout.
I didn’t write a story, but hoped that the suggestions created in the characters would make people think about what could happen between them.
