My Amazing Animal

Amazing Animals Production

In the first part of my Amazing Animal creation, I researched a Butterly. This section was called the encyclopedic animal stage where I studied the real-life version of what a Butterly looks like. I used my HB pencil to sketch an encyclopedic butterfly. On the left is my reference photo and on the right is my finished drawing. I enjoyed this process in the production because it helped me figure out how to properly shade and use textures.
The second part of the process was drawing Logos, Transformations, and Gestures. The logos were done in sharpie on tracing paper. I found it enjoyable to create logos because they were simple and quick to design. The transformations in the middle encompassed a butterfly's pop culture and lore. This part of the creation process challenged me to stretch my imagination. Lastly, the gesture designs were a harder concept for me to grasp because they seem easy and simple but take thought. I loved using different ink pens, brushes, pencils, and charcoal to accomplish these gestures.
These are my final encyclopedic, logo, gesture, and transformation designs. I thoroughly enjoyed this art project because it grew my artistic capabilities and stretched my creative thinking cap. I learned that I love drawing butterflies because they remind me of hope. Drawing them gave me peace and reminded me that there is hope in the world and that simple little things like butterflies can brighten one's day.
