Brief

To create a conversational print for Cath Kidston to be used across Women's fashion, home ware and accessories.

 

Concept

To celebrate English heritage with a vintage feel. To create a print with a spin that can be taken further.

 

Solution

Taking reference from vintage comic books, I took the idea of superheroes and transferred it to local heroes of Britain who serve us on a daily basis. These are the boys of Britain, who can be worn proudly and loved by all. I designed a comic strip as well to get across the personality of the print.

This is the pattern in it's stepped out version and three colour way solution.

The labels of the products are specifically designated to an individual character. The postman would feature heavily on satchel and tote bag labels where as the butcher or baker would be found on aprons and kitchen utensil labels.
