The publisher, Christi, contacted me to do the book cover art for her latest book.  I was given the initial concept that I simply adapted for the correct layout.  Then I added a couple of concepts of my own to give her a few options.

 

Christi looked at the options and sent me the book's theme verse: "I rise before dawn and cry for help; I have put my hope in your word. Psalm 119:147 NIV"

 

After getting additional feedback I created the final design (bottom).
