A moment of divine inspiration.

I wanted to present the feeling that comes from dancing Sema dance. When the dervish is in complete ecstasy, he no longer feels anything, but only the presence of God, which, as shown in the manipulation, illuminates the dervish from which shines the light of knowledge, which dispels the black clouds and illuminates the darkness.

Whispers of ultimate wisdom.

In this animation I illustrated Mevlana Rumi speaking the words of Mesnevia to a dervish.

Those words spread, and like dervishes during a sema dance, they spin to the music of the ney.

In this abstract approach, I tried to present the feeling of infatuation with Divine.

Name of manipulation:

Everything started from crying sound of Ney.

In this manipulation I combined different pictures that I took, and that are presenting the story of the ney in abstract way. Ney and neyzen(ney player) are main focus here, and from that is spreading most important influence that came from ney music, Sema dance and dervishes that are dancing in ecstacy. After that we have Rumi’s poetry, as another and most important influence of the ney.

Four stages to the perfection of spirit.

The first stage is the moment when we start on the path of spiritual knowledge.

Here the ney is still in the neyistan (the place where it grew), and

the dervishes are still covered in black cloaks (still dedicated to life in this world).

The second stage is when the cleaning of the ney, which is overgrown with unnecessary grass and bark, begins, that is, the preparation of the ney to be used for playing, and the dervishes take off their black robes (they leave the desire for this world and begin their spiritual path).

In the third stage, the ney is cleaned, its interior is cleaned and it is now hollow and through it can pass the breath (representing God's inspiration) which is necessary to play the ney, and the dervishes begin to dance with their hands next to their bodies.

In the fourth stage, the ney plays, produces magical sounds of wisdom, and the dervishes dance in ecstasy and ecstasy, and having reached the goal they were striving for, they have completely surrendered to God.
