The healing hands of the physician bear a burden beyond compare; the fragility of life. The physician is the embodiment of trust and a beacon of hope positioned at the threshold of life and death. In times of desperation we look to these healers as they manipulate the course of nature to deliver us from discomfort.
These ideas are referenced with subtlety through an intuitive redesign of this book. An allusion is made to the visual language of medical x-rays, and a surgical treatment is applied to type and imagery. White space and dramatic compositions create a comfortable tension as the chapters move in and out of darkness.
