DULL VS VIBRANT SKATEBOARDS
You will create two skateboard graphics using any creative tools you'd like. The first part of the assignment will be to think about, investigate, and define the project's theme as a class. We will further discuss these topics in class. You will then begin the design process with the goal of creating designs that will make your personal interpretation of the theme. You will then be responsible for creating a unique way to display your skateboard for the winter art show.
I began drawing out and sketching ideas. I had two ideas I was deciding between. One was two different eyes showing different perspectives, one being dull faded out nature and one being vibrant scenery. My second idea was more abstract shapes and scenes. One would be full of vibrant flowers and colorful designs and the other would be just grey trees and shapes.
I decided on the eyes ideas and began drawing my sketches. Here is the process of me creating my designs.

I used gel transfer to put my designs on my board. I printed my designs, glues the board, then put on my designs and let it dry. I then began slowly wetting and rubbing of the paper layer by layer.
I sanded off some of the glue that was stubborn, then I applied a clear coat of spray paint to finish it off and make it complete.
