                  A Master's Work
Gerhard Richter Oil Painting "SeaScape" 1998 A Masters Work
I chose this painting because it had a calming effect on me. I wanted to see how I could contrast this work with my own. This was an oil painting done in a realistic style.
Titled "Fire Face" I chose to do digital art to oppose the physical painting of Gergard Richter. The fire was an aesthetic opposite to the water of the painting. I chose to make this in abstract style showing a face and using the fire as a gradient for the background.
Made in Adobe Illustrator.
This is the fire I created and used for this project. I created the fire from the pen tool in three layers of different fire related colors. once the fire was made I grouped it and made copies and transformed and sheared it to create the background. The face was also made from stretching and placing fire in certain spots. The background was given an 85% opacity to make the face noticeable.
Banner I created to match the project using the same fire asset 3200x410px
