The name 'Serif' supports the use and imagery of the simple tick shaped arm and shell

Look at the shiny, shiny
The name 'Serif' supports the chairs function and tick shaped imagery of the arm and shell.

Serif was originally designed as a luxury internet chair suitable for hospitality and leisure environments. However within the development process we soon decided a nice soft upholstered cushion and newly developed arm would look amazing as a boardroom/ meeting chair.

This chair is all about the arm and appealing to our desire for nice shiny objects. In its simplest form the walnut shell compliments the chrome and screams luxury.
The shape was crucial. I wanted reflect as much light aspossible.

CAD, Render.
Prototype, Stress Analysis.
Tool, First Shot.
Had to do a bit of messing around in the workshop for this one.
I did these renders to support the concept.
