GRPH 421 Project 1: Weather Ready Farms

GRPH 421 Project 1: Weather Ready Farms
Weather Ready Farms is trying to educate farmers on more sustainable practices to adapt to changes in our climate. For this project, we met with two members of Weather Ready Farms, Nathan Mueller and Candace Holbert. They wanted to reach more farms by creating clear and intriguing branding and expanding their forms of transporting information.
Technical Research
I conducted a broad range of research about how farms run, how climate change is affecting farms, permaculture, and information on what equipment is used on farms. I also conducted visual research to see what was already out there in terms of designing for this subject.

Initial Sketches
Iteration
I had the opportunity to have many rounds of feedback from my professor, my classmates, and the clients. I stayed very broad with my ideas at the beginning, trying to follow every avenue I could think of.
Logo Variations
After all of my research and iteration, this is the logo I came up with. It is bold and simple, and shows the importance of farms, conservation, and being ready for weather changes.
Signage
A sign to designate which farms are weather-ready.
