I was asked to make a simple walk cycle of a fun character, so I made a Surfer Cactus man, which in Mexico are called "Nopales". 

Rough animation on the left and final animation on the right. It was made using a combination of 2D rigs in Toon Boom and some traditional animation for some of the assets like the rope tied to the ankle of the character.
