Throughout my art practice I have experimented with charcoal as a material for drawing among other things. i find charcoal to be good for larger quick sketches but also more detailed moody pieces like this adding texture. 

This graphic poster style piece was created with influence from Hannah hooch, the dada style of art and surrealism. the piece was part of experimentation drawing my dreams.

After my previous set of drawings I decided to try and create a 3D piece from my work. To create this I used metal wire and tin foil for the structural base, and used filo clay to create the detailed sculpture as I felt it would create more of a cartoon effect mimicking the illustrative style I had created in my sketches. Overall I wouldn't use this material again as it was difficult to mould and shape.
