Dede Korkut
When Dede Korkut was born or when he died is unknown. He is the main character and the story teller in "Book of Dede Korkut." It is one of the oldest works of Turkic literature and consists of epic tales. Book of Dede Korkut, consists of twelve epic stories which were products of an oral literature. After being told from generation to generation, they were finally written down in the fourteenth century.
