The Change-Maker | A center for social entrepreneurship
A changemaker is someone who is taking creative action to solve a social problem. "Changemaker" provides a roadmap for making transformative difference. Youth are the changemakers of the future.
Theoretical Position: ARE OUR CITIES BUILT, BENEFICIAL FOR YOUTH?
Design Intention: Provide an architectural intervention to safeguard and foster a sustainable society for future generation through a fusion of youth, community and local industries.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES:
- Create opportunity for youth to gain profit with purpose as an answer for the un employment of youth
- Create a transformative change in the social context of Nugegoda and use youth as change makers
- As a creative dimension, output gain through the upcycling and indirectly this become a solution for the problem of scarcity of resources
- Showing a sustainable way for younger generation to build up their future
- Create a Platform for youth to make a dialog within the context
- Fulfil UN(United Nations) defined, youth specific indicators of Sustainable Development Goals

Insights of the PROJECT PROGRAM
Project program has been developed based on following core functions.
EDUCATION :
- Raising awareness of social entrepreneurship.
- Providing opportunity for professional education.
- Engaging youth with scholars and professionals.
INCUBATION:
- Provide a space to practice gained knowledge through a real scenario.
- Encouraging start ups.
- Connecting young students with possible neighborhood communities to practice social enterprise.
- Provide technical and professional support from the center when needed.
REALIZATION:
- Provide space for own small scale businesses to grow up and make their own identity.
- Provide opportunities to approach public.
TECHNOLOGY:
- Provide space for technological innovations.
- Provide technological support all activities in above functions (Education, incubation & realization).
INCLUSIVITY:
- Bridge the outside and the center.
- Interact youth with outside resources and opportunities.
