This was a personal challenge for me—designing a typeface from scratch. It was inspired by many other fonts in this category such as Sedgwick County, Offering and Matchup. Please remember, I am an amateur type designer and this is my first and quite possibly last attempt to do this. So I would highly recommend exploring professionally designed typefaces for your design projects. Nonetheless, I enjoyed this process and am happy to share what I've created with you.
  • When designing this type I referenced various slab serifs and signage. Also, I was incredibly inspired by small towns, rural landscapes and vintage farm technology. The name Concordia was in reference to a small town in middle Missouri where a lot of my family grew up and lives. It truly feels like a second home to me thus inspiring me to create something to capture that feeling.
