I produced this illustrated poster of jazz-poet Gil Scott-Heron as a homage to his life and work, and to promote his last album on the recording label XL-Recordings.

After searching for an appropriate image of GSH to illustrate, I set about drawing him onto black artboard, using only a white Faber-Castell "goldfaber" pencil

The lyrics from GSH's final album for XL-Recordings "I'm New Here" were written in the background using a gold paint-pen, the other typographical elements are also hand-drawn. I added mirrored acetate onto his glasses so that people could "reflect" on the man's life and work.
