For this piece, the premise was to make a complex work out of basic shapes, or "primitives". I started with mostly ellipses, and used principles of negative and positive shape using the cutting tool. For the shadows, I made darker shapes and lowered the opacity.

Despite the outlines on the reference, I wanted to go for the "lineless" art style, seeming that this is to be done by using mostly compositing basic shapes.
