The Brief for this project was to choose one thing, and find out every detail about that one thing. Then present it in a way that is appropriate. I chose for my one thing to be Braille. I wanted to provide the information needed to understand and appreciate this amazing form of communication. There is a lack of information aimed at the sighted about Braille, and I feel it is something that should be encouraged and taught globally in order to open peoples eyes to the ways in which Braille provides freedom and independence to the blind and partially sighted. I wanted to portray this using tactile elements that makes people aware of touch as a form of communication and how important it is.
The book is centred around the fact that all Braille is created out of 6 dots. This is something I found particularly amazing, therefore used 6 chapters and a 6 hole japanese bind.
