Yahoo Open Hack Day is a 2-day forum for software engineers to work on the next big idea! The event logo (done by Yahoo), was the inspiration for the set design and other collateral design, encouraging the audience to be as offbeat as possible, think out-of-the-box and win big!
Registration counter design
The set design was conceptualized to be as casual as possible. Using real surfboards to create the backdrop and form the logo, along with a sloping stage, featuring a beach image with real sand.
Branded beanbags, which doubled as free gifts, gave the audience comfort as they worked or took a nap!
A gaming zone was designed to help recharge batteries.
A separate game kiosk doubled up as an app tester.
