Man oh Man! 2012
Taking from several different cultures' ideas of what makes a man or what is masculine- I created looks representing
the ultimate man. Although the being is shown to be the perfect man in representation, the appearance is no longer recognized as a "man" but as an overwhelming image, that transcends what is gendered. By overwhelming the eye
with imagery of masculinity, each person who views these looks will take it in differently, depending on their idea of masculine. Through historically gendered treatments to materials, "coming of age" colors and combined masculine silhouettes, the image of man is presented. By incorporating unusual, "non masculine" materials and techniques
alongside what is considered masculine, the line is blurred.
