Trepadora – Brand identity & packaging

Brand identity and packaging for Trepadora – a female-founded curly hair brand.

Trepadora was founded by Keisha Jo Lawler in 2015 who drew inspiration from her time living in South America where she learnt how women use indigenous botanicals in their everyday beauty rituals. Creating a blend of high-performing skin-friendly ingredients with nourishing botanicals, each formulation has been developed to care for the scalp as the root of good curl health.

On a mission to create a cleaner planet with vegan-certified formulations and eco-friendly packaging, we relaunched the Trepadora brand in 2022 with a new visual identity and packaging system with a greater focus on sustainability. The design is centred around a collection of hand-drawn illustrations celebrating the beautiful diversity of women Trepadora is made for.

The packaging features a calming palette of warming tones complemented by elegant typography. Each product features its own hand-inked illustration, drawing inspiration from the natural ingredients and celebrating the diversity of curly hair.

Trepadora’s vegan-certified formulations are now housed in recycled PCR (post-consumer recycled) packaging reducing the use of virgin plastics by 90% and significantly reducing the carbon footprint. The brand has also partnered with Treepoints to support carbon reduction and plastic waste collection projects that aim to preserve the earth’s precious resources.

Working with photographer Tara Liondaris we created a collection of product and lifestyle images to relaunch the brand.
