Fluosaures is a combination of three of my passions: silkscreen, paper toys and dinosaures!
This project has no deep meaning; its only purpose was fun.

The name and the 80's style are inspired by the use of bright neon colors. I wanted to use screenprinting to obtain a range of colors that regular laser or inkjet can't achieve.
Not only the colors, but also the pattern of the camo were reimagined. I wanted a sexy retro-futuristic version of the dinosaurs.
The pattern used to create the fluosaures' skins.

After preliminary sketches I modeled the dinos in Sketchup. I used flattery to unfold the model to a 2D template.

For the t-rex, three to four layers of ink were used; one for the shape and two to three for the pattern.
For the pterodactyl, I only used one layer of ink; but I mixed two colors to make a gradient.
Here we can see the Fluosaures in their natural environnement. The female pterodactyl is keeping the nest warm; while the male protects her against a too curious t-rex.
