*I always strive to depict historically accurately all the things and details of the event: car’s authentic specification and colors, driver’s clothing, environment, people and spectators near the track, weather, architecture and landscape. In addition, all fonts, logos and advertisements that were used in those years. It takes a lot of patience, diligence and passion to paint such detailed artwork.
ARCHITECTURE & LANDSCAPE: Saint-Calais - Église Notre-Dame.
ORGANISATION & ADVERTISMENT: Bayard-A.Clément advertisement in 1906, Map of Sarthe circuit in 1906, article from L’Auto-Journal 1906
*I researched old archival documents, photographs, publications, articles on the Internet and much more. Each car is drawn according to the model’s exact historic specifications. As a result, it took more than a month to work on the creation of this poster.
*Many hours of research and reference material to make sure I rebuild the car and environment exactly the way it was in that race. Drawing such small details requires high precision and concentration.
