Pergi ke Pasar (eng: Going to The Store) was a project I did as an assignment of Children’s Book Mini Course that held by Evelline Andrya (instagram) in September 2022 - November 2022. This was my second personal project children's book after Menanam Bakau which was written by the same person.
The story is about a little girl named Keni who went to the semi-traditional market with her mom. The story started with her mom wanting to cook soup but apparently the ingredients runs out, then they went to the market to buy the ingredients. Along the way until arrived at the market, they saw various kind of traders.

The setting Place is in Indonesia, so I wanted to show Indonesian characteristics through the design characters who have various skin color. I wanted to potray the diversity through the skin color which represent Indonesian people and their acceptance to the differences. And I also wanted to show Indonesian batik through the clothes worn by the two female merchant characters here.
