When speaking of rituals connected with summer solstice celebrations in Latvia, building the gate where the sun sets, the Sun gate, is sometimes mentioned. I don't know if this was really a thing in the old days or just a relatively modern invention, but I like the idea.

Flying lake
There are numerous legends in Latvian folklore about the flying lakes that are flying above the earth in search of their permanent place. In this one, a big red bird is trying to warn a servant girl from a manor, but she doesn't listen, so the lake goes down and drowns the manor and all its inhabitants.
