"Living in a city where it doesn't snow, "glaciers" and "snowfields" endow objects with the characteristics of works of art."
"Cool" is a photobook shot in Hokkaido
"When walking in Hokkaido, people's definition and cognition of things become blurred. These natural objects hidden in the snow seem to be framed by snow and placed in this quiet place covered in silver. Ice is a plant that belongs to Hokkaido. "Grow wantonly" on eaves, fences, and lakes.
This book records the extraordinary landscape from the east to the north, from the sea of Okhotsk to the corner of Otaru city.
The whole book is printed in three riso colors: water blue, blue and gray. The original photos are subjected to secondary color separation and printing, trying to create a different-dimensional landscape beyond the world of eyes. Words and images on each page create an interesting intertextuality, further explaining the connection between real nature and the unreal poetic world.
At the same time, on the cover, the snow paper imported from Japan is selected with the craftsmanship of naked back stitching. Together with the printing, it brings readers back to the cold and strange world.
